Several weeks ago the documentary Drew Struzan: The Man Behind the Poster was unleashed unto the world via Netflix. Kristian sat down with his friend, artist Leeahd Goldberg, to discuss their thoughts about the film as well as what it revealed about Mr. Struzan’s life and what inspiration can be found in it for visual artists in any medium. Then the conversation inevitably turns to the Frank Frazetta documentary Painting with Fire and the power and influence of his work. All this admiration for two of the modern masters of fantasy art causes them both to bemoan the state of the modern movie poster until Leeahd recommends a third documentary based of the life and work of Wayne White called Beauty is Embarrasing. It’s a heck of an artistic episode on this week’s Part-Time Fanboy!
Part-Time Fanboy. Not Current. Not New. Always Opinionated.
