In 1977 DC Comics introduced their first black superhero in the pages of Black Lightning. Created by Tony Isabella and Trevor Von Eeden, Black Lightning lasted only eleven issues in his own comic but was a character who became a fan favorite when he began appearing in other titles such as Batman and The Outsiders in the 1980’s. Last week the CW network brought Black Lightning to the small screen in his own TV series and the show quickly set itself apart from the other CW superhero shows that have debuted over the last several years. This week on Part-Time Fanboy Kristian sits down with Mark L. Miller to discuss the show’s debut. Did Black Lightning’s first episode electrify the airwaves with excitement? Or did it fizzle out like an overcharged Eveready battery? Find out on this episode of Part-Time Fanboy!
