Back in 2016 Ryan Reynolds earned his geek cred by surprising everyone with a fantastic performance as the mutant merc-with-a-mouth, Deadpool! The first Deadpool movie ended up being a hilarious breath of fresh air that turned superhero movie tropes on their head by making fun of the genre and using the freedoms an R-rating gave them to break the boundaries that superpowered movies have imposed on themselves for years. The first movie broke box office records for an R-rated film and inspired other mutant films like Logan to follow in its more mature themed wake!
