Gabe Cheng is a writer and podcaster who was previously on Part-Time Fanboy to talk about his comic book project Into the Wilderness (You can check out that interview here). This week Gabe returns to PTF to talk about launching a Kickstarter for the final issue of the comic which Into the Wilderness spun off from, For Molly. For Molly tells the tale of a man who finds himself caught in a secret conflict between warring tribes of humans and talking dogs in the rural wildlands of New Jersey. For Molly is a comic which Gabe has been developing and writing for years and tomorrow is the crowdfunding launch for the final issue of a project that has been part of his life for a long time. On this episode of Part-Time Fanboy Kristian chats with Gabe about coming to the end of his run on For Molly, growing up in New Jersey, coming to terms with why the default position for lead characters in fiction tend to be of a certain race or skin color, and how challenging it was to deal with that as a mixed race creator while creating his own protagonist in For Molly.
