Michael Tanner is a comic book writer who also happens to be a huge fan of professional wrestling. On a sojourn to the San Diego Comic Con he approached artist Don Nguyen with his idea for a comic that detailed the exploits of a wrestling federation whose matches would take place in space in Earth’s far flung future. Don immediately loved the idea and thus their latest Kickstarter project was born, Battle Grapple: Rebel. This week on Part-Time Fanboy, Kristian steps into the ring with Michael and Don to get an education on the history and mechanics of good ol’ fashioned wrasslin’! They talk about how their comic is an homage to wrestling stars of the past, the athleticism and endurance it takes to be a wrestler, and how a sport that’s really performance art is able to capture the imaginations of fans across the globe!
