Part-Time Fanboy Podcast: Ep 459 Richard Fairgray Chronicles A Love Found Through Comics in Four-Color Heroes!

Richard Fairgray is a New Zealand comic creator who may be best known for his all ages comic book Blastosaurus. In the past several years, Richard has turned away from telling stories for kids to tackling comics with a more mature aesthetic. His latest book Four-Color Heroes, now out by Fanbase Press, explores how a friendship develops between two teenage boys through their discovery of comic books and then grows into a deeper romantic relationship. On this episode of Part-Time Fanboy, Kristian chats with Richard about his love of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, why he considered Blastosaurus an albatross holding him back from making the comics he really wanted to make, and what it took for him to shift gears into creating books with themes he really wanted to explore.
