Tonya Todd is an actress, author, and podcaster. On October 2nd a group of essays she co-edited with A. R. Farina is set to be released called Comics Lit. In Comics Lit, comic book fans with backgrounds in film, education, and literature take a deep dive into the connections between modern day pop culture super people and characters in classic literature. In Tonya’s essay she explores the strong association between Catwoman and Sherlock Holmes’s Irene Adler and in another essay a connection is made between  Rappaccini’s Daughter and Poison Ivy. On this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian sits down with Tonya to chat about all things Catwoman, about how she came around to discovering that comic books could be literature and works of high art, and how she became involved in the process of gathering and editing the essays for Comics Lit.
