Joy to the World guest starred Bridgerton and Derry Girls actress Nicola Coughlan as a young lady named Joy who purposefully chooses to spend the holidays alone. While checking into a hotel, she gets caught up in an adventure with the Doctor which will eventually have a serious effect on the origin of Christmas.
