Mike Kunkel is back! This week on the Part-Time Fanboy podcast Kristian chats once again with the creator of one of his favorite comics of all time…Herobear and the Kid! Ever since he came across Kunkel at the San Diego Comic Con back in 1999, Kristian has considered his work to be something special. With Herobear and the rest of his work at The Astonish Factory, Kunkle has created properties that are filled with hope and nostalgia for the kinder, simpler time of childhood. Next week sees the debut of the first full new Herobear and the Kid story in years. In Saving Time, Part One, Herobear and Tyler explore why his superhero bear was created in the first place in a time twisting tale that expands on the events in The Inheritance. Kristian chats with Mike about why he wanted to delve into Herobear‘s origin, why he felt the need to bring a secondary character to the forefront in this chapter of the story, and why he loves Christmas with the passion of someone who grew up on the East Coast even though he’s a Southern California native.
