This summer Spider-Man joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe by making an appearanceĀ in Captain America: Civil War. Next year, everybody’s favorite wall crawler is set to debut in a Marvel/Disney/Sony joint production entitled Spider-Man: Homecoming. Since 2002 Spidey has been the centerpiece of five big-budget feature films but there was a time when the making of a movieĀ based off of the alter ego of May Parker’s favorite nephew was an almost unthinkable task! Several weeks ago the New Beverly Theater in Los Angeles screened the ’77 Spider-Man pilot film and although Corey and Kristian couldn’t make the screening they were still able to watch it via the magic of YouTube! So sit back and relax, true believers, as we travel back to a time before CGI, before basketball textured superhero costumes, and before onscreen superheroes had abs of steel!
