Jessica Maison is a writer who saw the injustices being done to women in today’s society and decided to take action using her talent as a wordsmith and sequential art as the medium with which to deliver her message. Jessica, along with artists Loni Watson and Mark Mactal, created the vigilante superheroine known as Pistil. Pistil details the vengeful wrath of a vigilante who fights for the victims of sexual assault by exacting justice upon those who have victimized them. Set in the seedy world of human trafficking, Pistil uses the anti-hero Deathwish model to explore social injustices that few comics dare to examine.
This week Kristian sits down with Jessica for a personal chat about the birth of Pistil. It’s a serious conversation that covers current issues that are affecting women everywhere. This week Part-Time Fanboy gets political as we talk about a comic that addresses some very powerful problems that are being brought to the fore in our culture due to the birth of the #metoo movement.
