Matt Dunford is the Chairman of the San Diego Comic Fest. San Diego Comic Fest is a convention that was started eight years ago by the founders of the San Diego Comic Con. San Diego Comic Fest was created as an antidote to the hoi polloi that had descended unto Comic Con. The founders of Comic Fest longed for a convention experience that was a more intimate and one on one affair between pros and fans. Years ago, Matt started off as a volunteer. In a relatively short while, Matt would be offered the Chairman role due to how impressed the organizers of the convention were with his go get ’em attitude. This week Kristian chats with Matt about SDCF, how he came to be involved with it, and what it is that sets Comic Fest apart from the glut of conventions that seem to be popping up everywhere recently.
