In May of 1983 the TV watching public would be treated to a television event unlike any they had ever seen before. Television mega-producer, director, and writer Kenneth Johnson (the man behind the creation of The Bionic Woman, The original live-action Incredible Hulk TV show, as well as having written, directed, and produced a chunk of Six-Million Dollar Man episodes) introduced television and sci-fi fans to an epic mini-series known only as V. V posited a world in which a fleet of alien starships found their way to Earth but instead of wanting to conquer our planet like so many other invaders had attempted to do in science fiction…they came seeking our help and friendship. The Visitors, as they came to be known, came seeking peace…or did they? What unraveled in the two night, almost four hour broadcast was a show that almost every Gen-Xer still speaks of with fondness and awe almost forty years later. On this episode of Part-Time Fanboy we revisit the original mini-series that blew the minds of every young sci-fi fan that watched it when it originally aired. Kristian sits down with his friends Yvis Cannivale and J. Holtham to see if friendship really is still universal four decades later!
