Jeremy Whitley is a writer who made a splash on the comics scene with his creator owned project Princeless. Since then, Whitley has gone of to write characters such as The Unstoppable Wasp for Marvel as well as Rainbow Brite for Dynamite Entertainment. Jeremy has made a specialty of writing fully realized and three dimensional characters that fans of young adult fiction can enjoy. Earlier this month he (and artist Jamie Noguchi) released his first full graphic novel through Papercutz, School For Extraterrestrial Girls! This week Kristian chats with Jeremy about making the jump to the number one publisher of kid’s graphic novels! The conversation covers many different topics including what it was like to move from writing for publishers of single issue comics to full fledged graphic novels, how much easier it is to develop projects when you have a literary agent, and how he’s able to step outside himself and write about characters who aren’t the same gender or race as he is. It’s a great chat with one of comicdom’s continuing rising stars on this week’s episode of Part-Time Fanboy!
