David Pepose is one of comicdom’s most prolific indie creators. Last year he took Kickstarter by storm with his fantastic Wizard of Oz mashup The O.Z. He’s had success with titles such as Spencer and Locke and Going to the Chapel from Action Lab Comics. Last week saw the release of his latest comic Scout’s Honor! What happens when a post-apocalyptic society uses an old Ranger Scout manual as the blueprint for its new civilization? Such is the premise behind Pepose’s newest brainchild published by the aptly named Aftershock Comics! This week Kristian sits down with David to discuss his newest creation. The conversation takes all kinds of turns as they discuss the controversy surrounding the current day Boy Scouts, gender politics within apocalyptic fiction, and Pepose’s own experiences with religion within his own family.
