It’s episode 350!!! It’s a two podcast week! Why, you ask? Because this week the nerd world was rocked by Zack Snyder’s Justice League! Several years ago director Zack Snyder had to step down from directing the third of his DC Comics trilogy of films due to a family tragedy. Because of Snyder’s having to depart and because of a looming release date that Warner Brothers deemed could not be pushed back then fan-favorite director Joss Whedon stepped in to finish up the film and try and pull something together from what Snyder had shot. Since the release of the Studio Cut of the Justice League, Zack Snyder teased fans on social media with just what might have been if he’d been allowed to finish his movie version of DC’s favorite superhero team. Thus the hashtag #releasethesnydercut was born. In an unprecedented move, Warner Brothers finally relented and gave Snyder anywhere between 25 to 75 million dollars in extra funding in order to re-shape his vision so it could be released on their HBO MAX streaming service. Last week saw the release of his final cut and the nerd world exploded with anticipation. Was this new Justice League film everything Snyder promised it would be? Would it redeem the disappointment many fans felt from his previous two efforts, Man of Steel and Batman V Superman? This week Kristian sits down with Yvis Cannivale and special guests Mark L. Miller (of MLMIllerWrites.com) and Joe Slepski (of the Joe On Joe Podcast) to discuss the longest Justice League effort yet. Does it fulfill the promise of DC fans’ expectations? Is it a good movie? Is Joss Whedon’s career as a filmmaker over now? Find out on this episode of Part-Time Fanboy!
