Jed McPherson is a writer from the United Kingdom who’s been on the Part-Time Fanboy podcast and run Kickstarter campaigns before. First with his espionage thriller comic Transmissions (published through TPub Comics), then with his grungy social commentary horror book The Show. This time McPherson returns to Kickstarter and the PTF podcast to sell his latest comic, Cuddles, which is a colorful noir-like crime drama…which happens to be the genre that Jed likes writing best. This week Kristian sits down for a chat with the creator of what may be the prettiest crime comic he’s seen in a long while. Kristian and Jed chat about the unique choices he made with the artists of the book (Marco Perugini and Shan Bennion) so they could create a crime book whose visuals would literally pop off of the page. They also chat about overcoming Kickstarter anxiety, the differences between conventions in the U.K. and the U.S., and why Jed waited so long to work in the genre he loves best for a Kickstarter project! It’s another international conversation with the writer of one of the best new crime comics out there right now!
