It’s a two podcast week! Why? Because the third issue of Deliverance is funding on Kickstarter, that’s why!
Deliverance is a comic series in which the first issue ends with the death of God. As a result of God’s untimely passing, the angels of heaven now have to engage in a Battle Royale-like competition with a group of humans to see who will take his place. On this episode of Part-Time Fanboy T. Garret Petersen, the writer behind Deliverance, returns to the podcast to chat about his series which Kristian considers a combination of the classic Vertigo Comics series Preacher mixed with the visual aesthetics of an Image comic from the nineties. Kristian and T. discuss everything from the mythology of comic book superheroes to what it was about Petersen’s religious upbringing that made him want to craft a story like Deliverance and top off their conversation with a short remembrance of the somewhat forgotten Robin Williams film Moscow on the Hudson.
Part-Time Fanboy. Full-Time obsession on a Part-Time schedule.
