Charlie Stickney is the writer and co-creator of the hit indie comic White Ash. For the past several years White Ash (along with its spinoff book, Glarien) smashed Kickstarter goals when each issue of the series has launched on the crowdfunding platform. Stickney recently took White Ash over to Scout Comics (where he also became a co-publisher) and is about to launch the beginning of the second season of White Ash in comic shops in early December. On this episode of Part-Time Fanboy Charlie takes a deep dive with Kristian into the different strategies he employs when releasing his books via Kickstarter, through comic book shops, and the bookstore/online retailer markets. He also chats about the differences in age appropriateness between White Ash and Glarien, how he approached the story for each property, and how he discovered his incredibly talented artist and co-creator Conor Hughes.
