Jordan Hart is a comic book creator who was diagnosed with Thrombophilia in his twenties. Using his medical condition as inspiration, he set about to create a tale of a person with super powers who has their own struggle with an invisible disability. The result is Ripple Effects, a comic book series being published by Fanbase Press and currently being distributed on Hoopla. Ripple Effects tells the tale of a young man who becomes invulnerable to physical harm but at the same time develops Diabetes. It’s a mature comic book story about a protagonist who deals with the realities of living with a life threatening medical disorder while essentially becoming almost impossible to hurt. This week on Part-Time Fanboy, Kristian chats with Jordan about dealing with his own life changing diagnosis, how he used his own experiences and the experiences of his friend to craft Ripple Effects, and what it was about using the Hoopla platform for distribution that appealed to him and Fanbase Press.
