In 1985 the fourth film in the Rocky Balboa saga was released. Rocky IV, however, would be a very different movie from its predecessors both in directorial style and tone. In the fourth Rocky movie, The Italian Stallion would become a symbol for the Reagan-era United States as it stood up to the tyrannical Soviet Union which was personified in super boxer Ivan Drago (played by a statuesque Dolph Lundgren). On this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian sits down with PTF regular Yvis Cannavale to chat about the oddest entry in the Rocky franchise as well as Sylvester Stallone’s re-cut version of the film known as Rocky IV: Rocky vs. Drago. They talk about the differences between the two cuts of the movie, the reasoning behind the death of Apollo Creed, and Kristian continues to advocate for a Paulie prequel!
