Part-Time Fanboy Podcast: Ep 449 Clay Adams and David Schrader Bring Carmilla Unbound to Life on Kickstarter!

Carmilla is a novella written by Irish writer Sheridan Le Fanu that is one of the earliest instances of vampiric printed fiction. It’s a book which pre-dates Bram Stoker‘s Dracula by almost thirty years! Carmilla, however, unlike the more famous Count from Stoker’s novel, has been relegated to relative obscurity throughout the years. Clay Adams and David Schrader (the creators and publishers behind the Nightmare Theater horror anthology graphic novels and books such as Blazing Blade of Frankenstein and Cannibals on Mars) have brough the vampiress back for their new comic book Carmilla Unbound which is now funding on Kickstarter! This week on the Part-Time Fanboy podcast Kristian chats with Dave and Clay about the novel that inspired the creation of their new comic, how they went about bringing her into a more modern setting for their story, and how they approached the more adult subject matter at the center of their book to keep it from being just another exploitative comic book cash grab!
