Caleb Palmquist is a writer and comic book creator who has the distinction of being able to make a living solely off of the projects he’s launched on Kickstarter. He’s has several successful properties fund on the platform including comics like Unicorn Vampire Hunter, Vampire Detectives in Space, and most recently Dragon Grit. His latest book, Modern Mythology Presents: Medusa, is currently on Kickstarter now! On this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian welcomes Caleb back onto the show to chat about his latest adventure which takes the horrifying mythological creature and sends her on a Tomb Raider like adventure to assassinate the gods of ancient Greece. They talk about what it was about Medusa and Tomb Raider that made Caleb think that the ideas would blend well together, the risks of taking on a completely new book with no previous crowdfunding track record, and the concern that his small comic book empire is completely dependent on the existence of the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform.
