Ricky Lima is a writer who has been publishing his own comics for years through his website, Limepressonline.com. This week sees the debut of his first collaboration with a major publisher, Top Shelf Productions! Undergrowth tells the story of dystopian future where giant alien mecha are causing an environmental catastrophe. In response, the spirit of the planet resurrects a group of teenagers to fight the monsters with giant robots of their own created from the elemental forces of their world. On this episode of Part-Time Fanboy, Kristian chats with Ricky about what inspired Undergrowth, how the book is an exploration of traumatic and environmental themes, and Ricky’s unique method of collaboration with the artists of his books.
