23 years ago writer Alex Garland and director Danny Boyle made a movie which resurrected the zombie horror genre. 28 Days Later kicked zombies into high gear by giving the once shambling mindless hordes the ability to run. It was a movie which Kristian considers to be one of his favorite horror films of all time (and which he chatted about on the Fanbase Press Podcast here). Earlier this month, Garland and Boyle finally returned to the a zombie apocalypse they started with a long awaited sequel 28 Years Later. This week on the Part-Time Fanboy Podcast, Kristian chats with friend of the podcast and horror critic/writer Mark L. Miller about the sequel that zombie fans have spent years foaming at the mouth for! They chat about how they feel about the original movie, its first sequel 28 Weeks Later, and whether 28 Years Later is the movie they were expecting it to be and whether expectations matter when it comes to the final product.
