Clay Adams and David Schrader are a pair of creatives who make up the production company Bloodline Pictures. Over the past several years they have had lots of success crowdfunding their horror anthology series, Nightmare Theater, as well as a host of other Kickstarter projects. Their latest project, debuting on Kickstarter on November 18th, is A Very Carmilla Christmas Carol. It’s a sequel to a series of stories that spun out of one of their original entries in the Nightmare Theater books and features the original vampire queen Carmilla, a character who predates Dracula by about 25 years. In their latest story they take Joseph La Fanu‘s creation and mix her with a bit of the old Charles Dickens X-Mas spirit. On this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian chats with David and Clay about putting a vampiric spin on the beloved Holiday classic and what it is about Carmilla herself that they think is worth exploring in a media landscape that’s full of all kinds of bloodsucking horrors stiving for people’s attention.
