Sean McArdle is a writer and filmmaker whose comic The Fuhrer and The Tramp is being released as a collected trade paperback edition today by Source Point Press! The Fuhrer and The Tramp is one of Kristian’s favorite releases in the past year or so and is a love letter to the classic films of the early to mid-20th century. Sean has been on the podcast before talking about his comic as well as his love of old movies. (You can listen to that interview here) This time Sean sits down with Kristian to chat about the process of adding new material and story pages to the trade paperback, combining his fictional idea of historical figures with the reality of the lives they lived, whether or not a book about Charlie Chaplin might resonate with younger readers today, and how the work of Steven Spielberg has influenced his work as well as Sean’s opinion that The Beard may actually be the greatest filmmaker of all time! It’s a full-on treatise on the work of Spielberg from Professor McArdle on this week’s episode of Part-Time Fanboy!
