In 1984, Stephen King released what was to be his first magnum opus novel: It. A story of middle aged adults having to return to their hometown to confront the very real monster that terrorized them during their childhoods, It became a smash hit immediately upon its release. In 1990, ABC would release a television mini-series that would be a somewhat watered down version of the story within the pages of It. This past weekend, moviegoers were treated to the latest adaptation of King’s novel. The film version of It drew film goers into theaters much like Pennywise the Clown would lure children into sewer drains. It smashed box office records over the weekend and introduced a whole new generation of horror fans to the The Losers Club and their battle to save their hometown of Derry from an otherworldly and terrorizing force of evil.

This week Paul, Kristian, and Jason are joined again by Reyna Velarde (from our previous Wonder Woman episode) to talk about all aspects of It. They chat about the book, the miniseries, and the just-released movie. What effect did It have on them when they were exposed to the different versions of It? Did the latest movie live up to their remembrances of the novel or miniseries? Does the new movie float like a balloon and surpass expectations or does it sink into the drain like one of Pennywise’s victims?
