After the death of Jack Kirby in 1994 John Morrow decided to print up a small newsletter dedicated to his love of Kirby’s art. Little did Mr. Morrow know that The Jack Kirby Collector, as he had titled it, would become a publication that would change the direction of his life. Almost twenty-five years later, John Morrow’s little side project has grown into TwoMorrows Publishing. TwoMorrows has since become one of the most respected publishing outfits in the comic community when it comes to books and magazines about the nuts and bolts of what goes on behind the scenes in the comic book industry. With magazines like Draw!, Alter Ego, and Back Issue or books like the American Comic Book Chronicles and Modern Masters series, TwoMorrows publishing has become the go-to place to go for anyone with a desire to learn about the history and craft of making comic books.
This past November John Morrow unleashed his latest publication…Stuf’ Said! In his newest book, Morrow looks at the complex history of the creation of the Marvel Universe by using actual passages from interviews with Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. Morrow does an exhaustive and precise investigation into who said what when and lets the reader come to their own conclusions as to which of the two created what aspect of the legendary comic book publisher. This week on Part-Time Fanboy Kristian sits down for a chat with Mr. Morrow in a discussion that covers the founding of his company as well as his latest book which has old school comic fans re-igniting the debate on who was responsible for the creation of the mayhem behind Marvel Comics!
