In 2017 the world was first treated to the very first movie adaptation of the iconic comic book character Wonder Woman. Starring Gal Gadot and directed by Patty Jenkins, the film received almost universal accolades by fans and was seen as somewhat of a turning point for the DC cinematic universe after the somewhat lackluster reception that Man of Steel and Batman v Superman faced upon release. This past past Friday, on Christmas Day, the long awaited sequel to that adventure was finally released on the HBO Max streaming service. Wonder Woman 1984 saw the amazing Amazon face off against two villains and the fashions and economic ideals of the nineteen eighties.
