Martin Eden has been writing, drawing, and publishing his own comics for over twenty years. With his first book, The O Men, he created a superhero team inspired by the comics he loved to read while he was growing up like Chris Claremont‘s X-Men books and Warren Ellis‘s Transmetropolitan. Later he would create a group called Spandex, published by Titan Books, which was dubbed as “The world’s first gay superhero team.” which spun off from his O Men books. In the past several years he’s returned to his self publishing roots with an all ages book called Zeros. Eden has been on the Part-Time Fanboy Podcast several times and is probably the guest that has visited the podcast the most since its inception (you can hear his previous interviews here, here, here, here, and here). Why? Because Kristian loves his stuff! This week Kristian sits down to chat with Martin once again as he begins to publish the second chapter of his Zeros story online. Their discussion takes several turns as they discuss everything from British television programming, to the kinds of comics that have inspired Eden’s work, to the reality of creating comics during an international pandemic.
