Writer David Accampo and artist Chris Anderson decided to create on a small horror project after working on a comic called Lost Angels together. They planned to make a single horror mini-comic that they could sell as an added bonus to their other books at conventions. One story became two, two stories became three, and before they knew it, their passion for horror and love of working together became a full fledged anthology comic graphic novel called Spectral…which is currently funding on Kickstarter. Spectral is an anthology like the EC Comics books of old in that it sets up its tales of terror using a unique framing sequence. Instead of the Crypt Keeper, Spectral has a travelling puppeteer who presents his stories to the audience via an old fashioned travelling puppet show. This week on Part-Time Fanboy, Kristian chats with David and Chris about how their horror collaboration kept growing once they started working together, how they manage the balance between writer and artist while crafting their stories, and how they were able to make actual physical puppets part of the rewards for their Kickstarter campaign.
