Tim Larsen is a comic creator whose comic book Mayfield Eight is an ass kicking, hog riding, chain slinging throwback to the biker gang grindhouse movies of the late sixties and seventies. Each issue of Mayfield Eight is a love letter to an era of independent movie making and story telling that kicked the doors down on the conservative rules that surrounded popular media until a certain point in the latter half of the twentieth century. Mayfield Eight holds nothing back when it comes to telling its crazy, in-your-face narrative and that is what makes it one of the most unique comics out there in the market today. This week Larsen launched the Kickstarter to fund the final two issues of Mayfield Eight. On this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Tim chats with Kristian about the media that informed his balls-to-the wall comic, how he lets the characters guide the narrative of his book, and what traditional art techniques and tools he uses to create the art for the comic book .
