Part-Time Fanboy Podcast: Ep 433 PTF Film Club-Rocky!

In 1976 a small independent movie was released in theaters that took the moviegoing public by storm. Directed by John G. Avildsen and written by and starring a then completely unknown Sylvester Stallone, Rocky quickly melded itself into the cultural landscape. A true underdog story, in both its narrative and behind the scenes creation, Rocky became a symbol for the struggling working man trying to get his piece of the American dream. The movie would spawn five sequels as well as three spinoff movies and make Sylvester Stallone a household name. This week on Part-Time Fanboy, we discuss the seventies movie that would eventually birth a franchise that would change the way movies were made, marketed, and sold to the public. Join Kristian as he steps into the ring with PTF regulars Yvis Cannavale and Paul Edwards to talk about the birth of the Italian Stallion as Part-Time Fanboy begins its examination of all six Rocky movies and how they changed pop culture cinema forever!
