Dalton K. Shannon is a writer who has a love of kaiju and giant sized mecha robots. Shannon cannot remember a time in his life when the King of the Monsters, Godzilla (or Gojira) was not present in his life. So when it came time to get his first Kickstarter comic book project off the ground with co-writer Wells Thompson and artist Fernando Pinto, it was obvious to him that it had to be something that involved giant robots fighting giant monsters. Thus was born the saga of MechaTon (currently funding on Kickstarter)…a story about a pair of siblings who discover a cosmically powered glove that enables them to transform just about anything it touches into a giant robot! On this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian chats with Dalton about the inspiration behind MechaTon, why they both love the original Japanese kaiju known in the U.S. as Godzilla, and what makes MechaTon different than all the other giant fighting mecha comics that have come before it!
