Phil Mucci is a filmmaker and a writer who has a passion for horror. In particular, the terror filled tales of legendary directors like Dario Argento, Mario Bava, and Lucio Fulci. He’s taken his affection for that particular genre and created his own comic book tribute to the horror masters of old! Professor Dario Bava: Orgy of the Blood Freaks, along with the Frankenstein-like western Gringo Loco, is part of Mucci’s Diabolik Double Feature…a giant-sized comic that is reminiscent of fan favorite horror magazines such as Eerie and Creepy. The Diablok Double Feature is currently funding its second issue on Kickstarter. On this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian chats with Phil about the importance of the gorgeous cover art he’s commissioned for his books, why horror fandom seems to be more open to new properties than comic book fans, and how the cultural landscape has changed from the days when they first got into collecting comics and watching movies.
