Susan and Tilly Bridges are a married writing team who have worked on properties ranging from comics to books to role playing games to television shows to films. They have been fans of nerd stuff for as long as they can remember and of Star Trek in particular to the point of claiming that they have watched every episode of the various incarnations of the show. When the opportunity arose to write a comic book adaptation of a Star Trek Voyager adventure through IDW Publishing they jumped at the chance. The result of their work is the mini series Star Trek Voyager: Homecoming which pits the crew of the famous starship against Species 8472 just as they have returned from being marooned in deep space for seven years. On This episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian chats with Susan and Tilly about how they managed to create a series that appealed to fans of and newcomers to the franchise, how they approached developing Species 8472 for their book, and how they dealt with any anxieties they faced while working on a property they loved.
