Matthew Schofield is an illustrator who has worked as a storyboard artist and a director on The Simpsons for over twenty five years! Even though Matthew's had a successful career in the animation industry, he'd never been able to let go of the juvenile desire to create comic books. Several years ago he created the superhero parody Steamroller Man as an online comic strip and eventually successfully funded a crowdfunding campaign for the first print edition of his character's adventures. Now Matthew is back to making comics with a sequel to Steamroller Man which is currently raising funds on Kickstarter! On this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian chats with Matthew about his time working on The Simpsons, how working on his own comic lets him stretch different creative muscles than he uses on that show, and the introduction of new characters to world of Steamroller Man, such as the Batman and Robin stand-in characters Night Knight and Sleep Tyke.
