Dan Goldman is a multimedia creator who's worked in comics and the entertainment industry for over twenty years. After a long stretch of working on properties for other publishers and producers, he decided it was time to focus on his own projects. Thus Kinjin Storylab was born. Kinjin Storylab is Dan's own independent storytelling studio on the web. Through Kinjin, Dan is able to focus on the tales he wants to tell without interference. One of these projects is Red Light Properties, which is a web comic he distributes through his newsletter and which was nominated for an Eisner Award this year when its first season was collected in a premium hardcover print edition. On this week's episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian chats with Dan about doing his own thing on his own terms and the steps it took to get him to stop working for other people and focus on building his own creative sanctuary where he can use his time on doing what he loves most.
