Joining us this week is prolific blogger Corey Blake (coreyblake.com and comicsobserver.com) for a discussion about all things Avengers! We discuss the beginnings of The Avengers all the way to the Kree-Skrull War onto The Ultimates and much, much more! Correction:In this podcast we claim that the character Mockingbird’s first appearance was in the ’80′s HAWKEYE mini-series. In actuality, her first appearance as Mockingbird was in MARVEL TEAM-UP # 95. The character originally appeared without a super-hero identity (as Bobbi Morse) in ASTONISHING TALES # 6. We all expresses our love for the second Incredible Hulk movie. Kristian is in love with the bpelt.com flatting plug-in for Photoshop. (You can see a quick example of what it can do here.) But our big conversation centers around alternatives to the Adobe Creative suite. We look into what software exists that will help you create your own comics if you are on a budget and can’t necessarily swing the coin needed to buy the Adobe Creative Suite. We look into options for Photoshop (including Gimp,Autodesk Sketchbook Pro,and even Photoshop Elements) , Flash (including Synfig Studio and Pencil) ,and Acrobat (including Primo PDF). We even get into a small discussion on Blender. Part-Time Fanboy. Not current. Not new. Just opinionated. Podcast:Play in new window | Download (Duration:1:00:33 —55.4MB)

Ian’s read The Ten Cent Plague by David Hajdu and he wants to talk about it! Which gets us to talking a bit about what happened to comic books during the 1950′s and why comics have gotten a bad rap! Paul talks a bit about Avengers vs. X-Men which forces Kristian out of the employment closet. And finally Kristian just gushes with love for John Carter! He calls it sitter worthy! Part-Time Fanboy. We had some major technical issues with the last recording and editing is taking a bit longer than I expected or had time for this week! But rest assured it’s coming! So consider this week a skip week or next week a skip week. The point is we missed a week! Bleagh! What can I say? As my pal Paul said:“That’s where the part-time part comes in.” Episode six will be up soon!
Plus we discuss the new Marvel Augmented Reality, Mark Waid vs. Comixology, the new Photoshop CS6 Beta,Mad Men and a bit on the resignation of Glen Keane!
