Last weekend Dreamworks Animation debuted it’s latest and possibly best animated film, How to Train Your Dragon 2. Unfortunately, the film’s opening weekend box office only came in at a somewhat disappointing sixty million dollars. With the company going through major layoffs in the past year or so and also struggling with the box office disappointments of Turbo and Rise of the Guardians…Kristian couldn’t help but wonder…why aren’t Dreamworks Animation’s projects making headway with the general public? Especially when so much of their output seems to be of decent quality? Kristian and Paul sit down to discuss some of their ideas about Dreamworks Animation, the company’s rocky history, and what it is about their movies that just doesn’t seem to connect all that well with moviegoing fans.
