This week Part-Time Fanboy puts the pedal to the metal to traverse international borders once again to talk with Australian writer Ryan K. Lindsay about his new comic book Speed Republic coming out from Mad Cave Studios on February 2nd! Speed Republic is a comic that takes place in a dystopian Europe which is ruled by one man, The Autocrat. To distract the populace from the bleakness of their existence, The Autocrat puts on an event called The Grand Race…a Deathrace 2000-like event which offers the winner the grand prize of a life of luxury only the very few get access to in the world of Speed Republic. This week Kristian sits down with Ryan to chat about the ins and outs of the making of Speed Republic, how hard it is to make car chases compelling in a comic book, and the difference between just telling an average action tale and trying to make stories that matter.
