Maxi Rodriguez is a comic artist who explores the concept of “Body Positivity” through her art. In her web comic Chronicles of a Chubby Bunny she illustrates characters who have more of an average person or “plus size” body type than what is usually seen rendered in the average comic book. On this episode of Part-Time Fanboy Kristian sits down for a chat with an artist who is attempting to challenge the body norms that the media and society in general force upon women everywhere. Maxi talks about the challenges she’s faced as she’s attempted to present a more realistic body type for women in her comics and the prejudices she’s faced in life being a woman who doesn’t fit the “perfect” body template that world seems to want to fit women into.
