This past weekend saw the release of the final entry in the quadrilogy of kaiju films produced by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. featuring two of the most famous giant monsters in film history, Godzilla vs. Kong. Beginning in 2014 with Godzilla and building through Kong: Skull Island the kaiju quadrilogy slowly built up anticipation of a modern day smackdown between the two mythological mammoth beasties. This week Kristian sits down with Yvis Cannavale to discuss the ending of the latest American series of Kong and Godzilla movies. In this episode they discuss expectations of what giant monster movies should deliver, their love of Godzilla and Kong movies growing up, and if human characters are actually integral to the plot of these movies in any way, shape, or form.
