Brett Weldele is an artist who’s been in the comic book industry for a long time. He’s worked on several properties during his time illustrating comics but is probably best known for contributing his artistic skill to the graphic novel The Surrogates…which was turned into a motion picture starring Bruce Willis. For the past three years or so, Weldele has been working on a project called Starlite. Starlite tells the story of what happens when a pair of famous super kids age out of their powers and have to contend with growing up in a world that’s forgotten them. The sixth, and penultimate, issue of Starlite is currently funding on Kickstarter. On this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian chats with Brett about how the classic Marvel comic Power Pack inspired the creation of this Kickstarter comic project and how he’s gone about creating the visual aesthetic that makes up the world of Starlite.
